Fiberglass Filters, Polyester Air Filters vs MERV Filters
at the hvac store - we realize we
have to "earn your business"
Our Fiberglass
and Polyester media filters have come a long way in technology in the past year. After many years
of being very basic filters they are now made with "polystrand media" enhancing a once MERV 1 Filters to MERV 5-6
Rated Filter. However 2" deep models still ship only in carton quatities of 12 filters, making them bulky
and expensive to ship. » see shipping costs.
The other alternative?
For many 1" Deep and 2"
Deep Model we suggest our MERV 7 and MERV 8 Pleat Filters. These filters can ship in carton qantities of (6) Filters, giving you a
more efficient filter and reduced shipping costs. A carton of 6 Pleat Filters can ship in
cartons of (6) Filters and are typically LESS EXPENSIVE than (1) Carton of (12) Filters! The final cost is typically
less than or equal to a Fiberglass or Polyester filter for most sizes - for a higher efficiency filter !

Fiberglass Filters
have been considered the "norm" for Years in Residential and are even used in Commercial Applications as "Roughing
Filters" during the "Construction Phase" until the final "specified" higher efficiency air filters
are installed. This does NOT make sense. During the "Construction Phase" there is a lot of dust and
dirt in the air. Before the Building is even opened for occpancy, the Air Handling Units have been greatly contaminated
with dust and dirt, causing the cooiling and heating coils, at building opening to work harder, causing a RISE IN ENERGY COSTS!
For Consumers who
are sensitive to Dust and Indoor Air Quality Contaminants, we highly recommend an air Filter of, AT LEAST, a MERV Rating of 7
and posssibly Higher. (Pleat Filters or known as Pleated Filters with a minimum of › MERV 7 or › MERV 8 Rating).
